The Promise Scotland is delighted to be recruiting for a new role of Strategic Communications Lead . It is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced communications professional to come and work with us at a critical time, as Scotland strives to keep the promise made to children, young people, families and adults with care experience.

As a small organisation, committed to closing by 2030, we want to make sure that The Promise Scotland is not building itself permanently into the system. We use flexible ways of resourcing our work – external support when we need specialist expertise or additional capacity; secondments into and out of the organisation; reevaluating posts when they become vacant; reshaping teams as the work changes.

We are clear that the Strategic Communications Lead is a vital part of the team. Continuing to tell the stories of change that are emerging across Scotland is a critical part of The Promise Scotland’s work. We also need to tell our own story, so that everyone understands our role and what we are achieving.

Secondments are an important part of our staffing mix. We are always keen to talk to people and organisations who are interested in secondments into, and out of, The Promise Scotland. And this job is no exception. If you are interested in applying for this Strategic Communications role on a secondment basis, please do get in touch.

We are excited to be putting this role out and look forward to hearing from people from the widest range of backgrounds. We are particularly keen to hear from people with lived experience of the care system. You will be working alongside a fantastic team of committed people, all of whom are working tirelessly to keep the promise. There has never been a more challenging and exciting time to join us and to make a difference to the lives of children, young people, families and care experienced adults across Scotland.

Please do get in touch if you would like an informal discussion.
