The Oversight Board for the promise are recruiting for new members to help with the vital task of reporting on Scotland’s progress to keeping the promise.
The Oversight Board was established in January 2021 to monitor, track and report on Scotland’s progress to keep the promise. Through its reports it highlights what has happened, and what else is needed by 2030.
Since being established The Oversight Board has produced three reports, showing where Scotland has made progress and what are the barriers to change.
To ensure the board are able to report on all areas of change needed going forward, we are looking to recruit new members with the knowledge, experience and skills needed to support the necessary change.
They have gaps to fill to ensure they can do their job and help keep the promise. They are looking for applicants with an interest in – but not exclusive to – poverty, education, health and homelessness. You might be an academic, involved in scrutiny and inspection or connected to an umbrella body. You will be joining a group over half of whom have lived experience of Scotland's 'care system'.
The Board particularly welcomes applications from people from diverse backgrounds: your voice needs to be heard.
Applications close on May 5.
