Reporters working closely with referred children and families
Once a referral has been received, the Reporter must work more closely alongside children and families, if they can.

Part of: Recommendations
Once a referral has been received, the Reporter must work more closely alongside children and families, if they can.
This should include:
Listening to children and families’ voices, views and experiences
The voices, views and experiences of children and their families must be routinely part of the Reporter's investigation.
There must be consideration of a statutory duty on the Reporter to seek the views of the child and family, if they wish to share them.
Connections between similar processes
Connections must be made between other simultaneous child care and protection processes.
Where possible, duplication, confusion and overwhelm should be removed.
Reviewing the Child's Plan
The Child's Plan (if there is one) should be reviewed as an integral part of understanding the help and support that has been put in place for children and their families.
