Questions you might have around joining the Design School
Do I need to be care experienced to join the Design School?
No. But if you aren't care experienced, you have to be actively working to #KeepThePromise.
There are two routes through the Design School:
- For teams of practitioners. This route supports small teams to work on a specific project that helps #KeepThePromise. Projects are based on what Plan 21-24 says needs to change.
- For care experienced people. This route is hosted by Who Cares? Scotland, and supports care experienced young people to develop skills in service design. It gives them the tools they need to direct the people who are tasked with making changes to services.
Do I need any qualifications to join the Design School?
No , but:
- you need to be actively helping Scotland to #KeepThePromise, and
- you need to be able to demonstrate your passion for doing this.
Do I need to live in Scotland to join the Design School?
Will I get a qualification on completing my Design School work?
No. For now, the Design School is not accredited, but The Promise Scotland is exploring changing this.
