Text of this poster reads:

Who we are and our impact

MCR Pathways was established in 2007 to address the gap between care–experienced young people and their peers. Our vision is to create an equality of educational outcomes, career opportunities and life chances for our young people through our school based mentoring programme.

Our school based mentoring programme

  • S1 and S2 group work, focusing on group relationships, self belief and confidence
  • S3–S6 mentoring, we match our fully trained volunteer mentors to our young people. Our mentors are the bridge to a positive pathway of a job, College or University.

Quotes

These quotes are shown alongside photos of young people smiling and looking happy.

I think I still would have been, like, the bad way I was if I didn’t have a mentor. I come to school more often now and I really think about my decisions before I actually, like, commit to it.

Young Person

I wasn’t getting on too well in school, work was okay, but the behavioural side wasn’t. I didn’t want to be there but since having my mentor I have become much more focused on the future and what I had to do to get there, which made me want to focus in school and do well.

Young Person

I never used to be bothered with what I was doing, but because of my mentor I’ve applied for college courses. She helps me do things I wouldn’t have done by myself, like apply to college and stuff like that.
