The Head of Public Affairs at The Promise Scotland, Fi McFarlane, will be moving to a new role next year. Fi will be moving to a senior leadership role with a third sector organisation based in the children’s sector in Scotland, with more information coming soon.
Over a number of years, Fi has played a key part in the Independent Care Review and has subsequently been integral to setting up and delivering the work of The Promise Scotland. Amongst many other things, in her current role she led on supporting the Hearing Systems Working Group to produce the ‘Hearings for Children’ Report, setting out a vision for transformational change to the Children’s Hearings System in Scotland.
Fraser McKinlay, Chief Executive of The Promise Scotland said:
I am very sorry to see Fi moving on from The Promise Scotland. She has made an immense contribution to the promise, from the work of the Independent Care Review to the publication of the milestone ‘Hearings for Children’ report. It’s great to see Fi moving to an organisation where her leadership, skills and passion will continue to make a positive impact on the lives of children in Scotland. It’s been an absolute pleasure working with her and she goes with our best wishes and thanks for everything she has contributed. We are looking forward to working with her in the future.
While things are changing in key roles at The Promise Scotland, we continue to be absolutely focused on supporting the big changes required to keep the promise by 2030. As you would expect, we are taking the opportunity to reflect on how we are organised for the future, and we will say a bit more about that in the new year.
