The Promise Scotland has appointed Alison Sutherland as its new Head of Support.

Alison joins on a two-year secondment from North Ayrshire Council, where she is currently Head of Service for Children, Families & Justice Services.

Alison will lead The Promise Scotland’s support team to engage with organisations with statutory responsibilities to #KeepThePromise. This will include building new ways of working and effective practice, nurturing Communities of Interest and driving forward reformed local and national activity.

Alison’s background is in education and previously taught English, before serving as a Head Teacher.

Fraser McKinlay, Chief Executive of The Promise Scotland said:

“I am delighted that Alison will be joining us as Head of Support, and I know we will benefit immensely from her skills and experience.
Alison brings first-hand knowledge of delivering the type of tangible changes in service delivery that we need. This is the type of approach that we need to see replicated and scaled up across Scotland so that the promise made to Scotland’s children and families is kept.

Alison Sutherland said:

I am incredibly excited to be joining the team at The Promise Scotland. I am really proud of the work that we have driven forward in North Ayrshire and I look forward to utilising that experience more widely. I also know how much best practice is being developed in communities throughout Scotland, and I look forward to learning from that in this important role.
