Nicola Sturgeon to join The Promise Scotland and Who Cares? Scotland at the SNP conference
We are excited to be hosting a joint event at the SNP conference with Who Cares? Scotland, looking at what matters now to keep the promise by 2030.
Our chair, and the Independent Strategic Advisor for the promise, Fiona Duncan will be on the panel, with Louise Hunter from Who Cares? Scotland, MSP and former First Minister Nicola Sturgeon, Ryan McShane from the Oversight Board and Who Cares? Scotland member Ethan Mulhall.
This event, in Aberdeen, comes ahead of the next Scottish Parliament Election, and around the halfway point since the promise was made. We will be discussing and reflecting on the progress made so far, and what still must be done to create meaningful and transformational change in the lives of children, young people, families and care experienced adults.
This will include:
- The route maps to get Scotland to 2030
- What the focus must be for the next Scottish Government and Parliament
- How the voices of those with care experience must remain central in change
- Addressing the systematic barriers which are getting in the way of change
This fringe will give all those who attend clearer ideas on what the focus must be for political parties to ensure the promise can be kept.
For anyone attending the conference, the event will be at Sunday, 12th October at 5pm.
