The Promise Scotland: Updated logo to give more clarity over the promise

We have updated our logo to help give more clarity over who The Promise Scotland is, and what the difference is between ourselves and the promise.
The new logo has a tagline, and a graphic to represent our role in supporting those working to keep the promise.
Many of the partners and organisations we work with understand what we do, and how we work to help the promise be kept. But this is not the case for everyone.
This was highlighted in October, when Audit Scotland published their report, ‘Improving Care Experience, Delivering the Promise. This said that there needs to be more clarity around the roles of The Promise Scotland, the Independent Strategic Advisor and the Oversight Board.
We often find that The Promise Scotland’s logo is used in places which should just feature the promise heart.
The promise heart is for anyone who is doing work to keep the promise, to be able to show their commitment to upholding the principles and recommendations of the Independent Care Review.
Our organisation’s logo should only be used for work we are involved in. However, the two logos are very similar, and this has led to confusion.
More clarity for those working to keep the promise
The update to the logo aims to help provide a visual difference between The Promise Scotland, the promise itself, and other bodies set up to keep it.
It is part of a wider piece of work to provide more clarity. This has involved:
- Creating a new website for the Oversight Board for the promise— separate from The Promise Scotland’s, and with its own style and branding.
- Restructuring and revamping our own website to give a much clearer focus on what we do, the areas we work in, and how we support people to keep the promise.
- We created a brand-new section on the website, Keeping the Promise, setting out the roles and responsibilities of specific individuals and organisations.
- We published updates on our role and responsibility in Plan 24-30 and the Promise Story of Progress.
